  1. Actually you CAN change the world. This quote is very superficial. It MIGHT be true, and is almost certainly true, that you can’t get rid of all the “serpents” inside and outside. That is an intriguing question that actually has no answer. But most likely the fact that you can’t “fix” everything, should never be a justification for going by “feelings”. It must also be said that “feels right” is not the only way you can guide yourself. Some people, due to age, background, health, context and so forth, might not have very appropriate and wise “feelings”. Others might. One has to check this out. To be guided, either in social or spiritual actions by the feelings that some people have is not really very wise.

    1. I totally agree, Tom… and I disagree. I agree that you totally CAN change the world, and everyone’s actions are a part of that. And I think that one of the ways it would be amazing to change it would be to help more people touch in with their feelings and instincts on what is right and what is not. I disagree in that what I read in the comment is a judgment on some people: that they don’t have the tools to take decisions to make the world a better place. I totally believe they do.

And in terms of this quote – of course it’s what one character says to another. As you may know, Clem Steiner is a fascinating character with plenty of shades of grey… and he’s talking to a young man very specifically, and Nestor definitely does have the tools to take decisions based on what he feels is right.
