Hmm. I think there are things of real worth that can be bought, like forests, or beautiful artefacts, or buildings. Although maybe we are then, or should be, stewards of them: we hold rather than own them. But the qualities listed here, like love, friendship, and respect, which I agree cannot be bought, and can only be earned, are ‘owned’ in a deeper way, become part of us in a deeper way, and are more truly ours. Hmm. And maybe we can still see ourselves as stewards of them, to hold and pass on as appropriate. Hmm. As ever, satisfying food for thought.
